Visible Green Home® The ‘Modern on Miller’ Tour
The Visible Green Home® Tour is very excited to present part two in the series ‘Modern on Miller’. This new home construction project in Ann Arbor, Michigan is designed with the certification goal of U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Zero Energy Ready.
The DOE Zero Energy Ready Home represents a whole new level of home performance, with rigorous requirements that ensure outstanding levels of energy savings, comfort, health and durability. A DOE Zero Energy Ready home is one that meets the requirements of the Department of Energy’s certification standards generating a home that is verified by a qualified third-party rater and is at least 40%-50% more energy efficient than a typical home. This is a growing movement in the housing industry as more and more people move to securing their own energy future. This home is also designed from a “long-life/loose fit” design strategy allowing it to change from single family use to a dual family, and leverage Ann Arbor’s new Accessory Dwelling Unit opportunity. Truly a home built for today and designed for the future.
